Moving Office 2003 files to another hard drive on same computer
My computer has two drives. My C drive is maxed out and I want to move my
Office 2003 files to the 2nd drive. Would it work if I used the move function and moved the files to the E drive? Or do I have to uninstall and reinstall? Thanks.

Uninstall and reinstall. There are a lot of links to Office in the
registry that "know" that it is installed on the C: drive. If you just move it, those links will be broken (and so will Office). Brian "lmaco" wrote in message ... My computer has two drives. rt click My Documents iconPropertiesMove Have you done Disk Cleanup? Thanks for the responses. I did uninstall and reinstall--didn't free up much
at all. I have tried everything I can think of to free up space and am at a loss for what it could be. The only other thing I can think of is the Windows XP updates. Yes, I had already done most of what you said. I did go in and changed the
cache to 50. My documents were already saved to my E drive but I did move the My Docs file and I still am maxed out. Disk cleanup is done ever day. It won't allow me to defrag. When the computer was purchased it came with the two drives and the C drive is only 8 gb. I don't know what else to do aside from reformatting the drive. I'm not sure what I'm talking about but I believe it's one drive partitioned into to drives. I do not believe there are two separate drives installed. But I don't know. Time for an upgrade! IMO 8gb is far too small for the o/s drive even if you install all apps to
the other and keep it clean as you would seem to be doing. When you utilise the utility, as detailed by Gordon, configure the C to at least 15gb I'm assuming the other partition is of sufficient size, if your complete hd is less than 40gb consider upgrading the hd. I agree 8 gb is to small. Why it was configured that way, I don't know. I
will give my boss the info about the other program to repartition the drives. I'm not touching that one!
