Daughter receiving this as a gift from us is very appreciative. She rates it highly.
I bought my first fryer and it was fantastic.. Easy to use, nice to look at gets nice and hot... But after the second time I changed the oil and cleaned the machine the heating element would not heat. So I thought, OK maybe I did something that broke it during cleaning, forked over the 100.00 for another one... But this time, I was extremely careful to avoid cleaning around the heating element and wires, yet after doing an oil change and cleaning the stainless bowl the same exact thing happened. If you never needed to change the oil, this fryer is great... but beware the heating element is very delicate.
After reading several reviews on a multitude of deep fryers for the home, I settled on this Waring Pro unit. Reason being I read several horror stories regarding other units where the bottom would spill out or the sheer difficulty to clean up. I never owned a deep fryer but wanted one for home just because my wife and I both love to experiment with foods. We previously used a pot, filled it with oil and fried things the old way. That got dirty real quick and ruined the pot as well. Now with this little deep fryer, I am able to deep fry practically anything I can think of. I can vouch for this unit to say that it is definitely convenient, easy to use, and doesn't make a mess. Some may say the temperature setting is a bit low, but it suits my needs. Here are some foods I have fried successfully:Tyson's Buffalo Wings - ones you buy at Costco; they are awesome when deep fried.Beer-batter mushrooms - recipe the wife found, very yummy.Deep fried tofu - it works, you will probably want to choose a medium firm tofu for frying and make your own sauce.Garlic Fries - home made french fries never been easier with this unit.Overall, I would recommend this; and so far, my friends have been pretty impressed with it as well.
I bought this as a x-mas gift for my girlfriend. It is probably the coolest appliance we have ever owned. It's top quality and very safe to use and easy to setup. I don't really understand how anybody could over-fill it unless you are an idiot. You can clearly see the recommended fill line and really once you start it, and put some food in the basket, you can see how much it raises the oil level. We've fried chicken, corndogs, fries, and breaded fish and they all turn out great and taste amazing. I would definately recommend this for anybody.
This fryer is great! I've made french fries, wings, and all sorts of food and they are delicious! The basket and lid are great for ease of use (and not getting hot oil on my skin) and although the breakaway cord can be annoying, I definitely would've had hot oil spilled all over my kitchen if this feature wasn't available and the cord stayed taut.
The Waring Pro Cool Touch Deep Fryer has a black cool touch housing with stainless accents. 3/4 Gallon capacity and a large frying basket. Immersion-style stainless steel heating element, breakaway cord, removable control panel.
