Booklet printing/margin problems
I'm very new to publisher and I'm hoping someone can
help. I'm creating an 8.5 x 11 Booklet that will print on 12 x 18 paper. I'm working on pages 2 and 3 which appear fine in edit mode. But when I Print Preview some of the text boxes on the bottom of Page 2 disappear. I then printed it to PDF to see the results and it looks like there is a one inch top and bottom margin on Page 2 but Page 3 is prefect. I've tried setting the margins to zero again but it's not working any suggestions? Why would one page appear to have margins and the one right next to it have none? Thanks, Amy |

Booklet printing/margin problems
Those who can help will want to know which Windows you are running, which
version of Publisher and probably which printer. Also include your page size, i.e., 5½"x8½" (normal for 8½"x11" paper) 12x18 inch paper? Booklet printing/margin problems
When you say you are creating a booklet, most folks think each sheet of
paper ends up as 4 pages. Is this your understanding? If the page size is to be 8½"x11", why not use 8½"x11"? -- Don -------- Vancouver, USA - One of the great cities in one of the 45+ countries in the Americas! "Amy" wrote in message ... Thanks! She means the finished article will have a page size of 8½"x11" - 8½x2 = 17. Capiche? OK, I'm going to use terminology that *I* understand. 12x18 is A3 near as damnit. Fold an A3 sheet in half down the long edge you have 2 A4 pages (fold A4 in half, you have A5, A5 in half, A6, etc). So, if you fold 12"x18" across the long edge, you'll end up with 8½x12" (or, to me, A4). Is that clearer? |

I still say there's too much wasted paper in this process. Someone's going
to have to trim this job and that either involves the OP's time or her cost is going up. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Cerridwen" wrote in message ... Booklet printing/margin problems
A small child turns to Ed, and exclaims: "Look! Look! A post from JL
Paules !"... I still say there's too much wasted paper in this process. Someone's going to have to trim this job and that either involves the OP's time or her cost is going up. The idea is that instead of getting 8.5x11 when folded, you get 9x12 - i.e., there is whitespace, which you can trim, which means you can print the job on a (cheaper) printer that does not support full bleed printing, and still print to the edge of the brochure -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://www.mvps.org/the_nerd/ Before reading this message, view the disclaimer: http://mvps.org/the_nerd/disclaim.htm |

Amy,
Download the driver for the printer you will use for this project, setup your printer first using the 12 x 18 size, then the page setup. See if that solves your problem. -- Mary Sauer MS MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://www.mvps.org/msauer/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Amy" wrote in message ... Booklet printing/margin problems
You are a better folderer (?!) than I. With a sheet of paper 12"x18" the
only sizes I can create are 6"x18" or 12"x9". Me thinks this 12"x18" paper may be from a bag out of Mexico which someone is inhaling the fumes from the fire created by the contents of same. (My attorney advises me to add that it would be a single fold parallel with either the top or bottom edge in a manner that would create two equal sizes). Here in the colonies the most common sizes a 8½"x11" 8½"x14" 11"x17" = would be used for a booklet size 8½"x11" Other locations on the globe would probably refer to paper sizes in millimeters. Ciao for now, Don "Cerridwen" wrote in message ... Don Schmidt wrote: When you say you are creating a booklet, most folks think each sheet of paper ends up as 4 pages. Is this your understanding?
