Default Splitting very large documents

I have several very large Word docs that I want to divide up into several
smaller ones. I tried searching for this but I am not sure what you call such a
procedure.

Default Splitting very large documents

I'd make copies of the original file and then delete out certain pages from
each one.....but that's just what I'd do.
