I've really messed up. I did not save a LARGE Excel
database I was working on and when leaving for the day,
when Excel prompted me whether I wanted to save, my hand
took over for my brain and selected NO! Is there ANYWAY
to recover the document I was just working on???

Any chance for intermediate saves--either manually or via AutoSave?

If no, then I think you've got trouble.
