Default outlook connector & hotmail

Tom-S,
I have the same issue across two MSN/Live premium accounts and across
several computers. Posted the problem several days ago on this forum and
received no responses and now can't even find the post. The pattern of
failures would indicate this is an issue with Live/Outlook Connector, but
have been unable to get any support response across all of MS support venues.
When I went online and looked at the MS server, the e-mails were there (same
date and time). However, no way to get them synchronized without deleting
account in Outlook and re-establishing, and re-downloading everytlhing.

Also having an issues with synchronizing "categories" with OC. Again, no
responses in any of the MS support venues. OC is not even listed anymore as
a product. At least I haven't been able to find it.

Very discouraging

I use outlook connector to access my Hotmail (within Office 2003 student &
teacher edition, on XP) and Hotmail is my only email account.

I recently noticed several emails in my Outlook folders (Inbox & Sent) had
no headers or apparent message content.

Because I prefer to use Outlook than the Hotmail interface, I hadn't checked
my Hotmail account via the interface for a long time, but after noticing
these 'blank' emails in Outlook, when I did check my Hotmail interface I saw
immediately that the number of items supposedly inside my Inbox and Sent
folders at the interface was very different to the number of items inside the
same folders within Outlook.

I was also able to see that some emails I had deleted within Outlook were
still sitting there in my Hotmail folders.

My questions a
1) Any ideas what these 'blank' emails are inside Outlook?
2) How can there be different folder tallies within Hotmail & Outlook?
3) When I delete an email in Outlook doesn't it get deleted in Hotmail as
well? If not, why not?

Thanks for any help.

You can solve this issue by disabling your virus scanner's integration with
Outlook; you'd still be sufficiently protected by your on-access scanner
part of the virus scanner. For more details see;

If this is not possible for your virus scanner solution, you can update to
the latest BETA version of the Outlook Hotmail Connector.

To J Austin & Roady,

Sorry for late response. Despite asking to be notified of replies to my
original post, I wasn't!

Like J and myself, reading through the recent posts shows there are quite a
few people experiencing the same problem lately. And also experiencing the
problem without having made any changes to anti-virus software or settings.

I'm going to try the Connector BETA version and see if that helps.

Thanks for your posts,

Tom
