Default problem 0ffice 2003 with norton anti virus 2005

I have problem when I do a F9 or send /receive after installing norton
antivirus 2005. it works if i disable norton whilst clicking on send receive.
There appears to be a conflict between the 2 programs . I have done office
update however I did not install recommended french updates as i do not speak
French. could this be the problem?
