auto correct turn off

How can I PERMANENTLY turn off certain auto correct
options? I HATE the auto list correction, and would like
to have it never be on.

Tools Autocorrect (or Autocorrect Options)
click on the AutoFormat as you type tab

Uncheck the ones you don't want. (I uncheck all of the middle section.)

I suspect you're referring to AutoFormat rather than AutoCorrect. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TameAutoFormat.htm. For AutoCorrect,
you can delete specific entries that you don't want to use, and there are
also several AutoCorrect options that can be turned off.
