I would like to ask if it is possible to link the custom shapes that I created to the excel file document to create a org chart. in addition, how do i create a custom shape which has the capabilities of an Visio-Org.-Chart's default shapes (eg. with the connection points etc) as i would like my custom shapes to be linked to each other appropraitely via a common value (e.g their department group name) fyi, i am using Visio 2007 professional and importing value from Excel 2003 Regards, Kiat |

linking custom shapes to excel file document to create a org chart
If I understand you want to do two separate functions, new custom shapes and
new program function. The custom shapes can be created by modifying existing shapes and saving with a different name. The linking by department group name rather than the reporting to (manager) might possibly require custom code.
