Default Protection

Every previously created Visio file has all shapes locked - I can't move or
create new shapes. I can change the text. I have selected all objects and
made sure there are non protected. I have not had this problem before. I
can't create a new diagram either.

Arlene,

Check your files on the file system. Are they set to Read Only? This can
happen if they have been copied from a CD/DVD, for example.

If not, then check under View - Drawing Explorer Window. Right click on the
file at the top and select Protect Document. Are any of the boxes checked?
