Default Word page template

I am running Microsoft Office 97 Professional. My wife
saved a file as the template for the startup screen by
accident. Now each time I try to create a new word
document, instead of a blank screen I get that file. I
have tried deleting, renaming, etc. Today, I removed the
software and reloaded it without success. The file still
comes up. What do I need to do to get the blank start
screen back?
