Default Can I update an invite without sending an e-mail

When I update a calendar invite, is it possible to have that update show up
in my invitees calendar without having to send them an e-mail notifying them
of the change?
i.e. I finalize the location of the meeting after I sent the original
invite. Is the only way to update the information in my invitees calendars'
to send them an e-mail saying as much, or is their another way?

If you don't send the message, how will their calendar ever know you've made
the change?
