Tracked changes disappear when text is copied
I need to save a book with tracked changes as individual chapters. How do I do this without losing the coloured marks? If I copy even a few words and then paste them into a new document, the marks disappear. If I turn on Highlight Changes in the new document, the whole text appears as a change, but not the individual changes I made before copying and pasting it.
I know I can delete all the text apart from the chapter I want to keep and then save that as a separate document, but the whole thing runs to 50 chapters and more than 350 pages, and it will take me a long time to do. I feel there must be a simpler solution. The document has a page break at the end of each chapter, but no section breaks and no master document/subdocuments. I am using Word 2004 for Mac (OS 10.4.11). Thank you. Helen |

The article at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/trac...ngesWorks.html provides the magic combinations (which I can never remember) for copying text with or without tracked changes. -- Suzanne S. Thank you very much, Suzanne. An excellent resource, and one that has saved me from an extremely lengthy process.
