Default Word 2007, how to get rid of the page number on the first page?

My new problem is how to get rid of the page number on the first page of a
report. I looked at the page layout-layout tab, I couldnot find anything
about headers and footers as described in the online Word help there or on
any of the other tabs. I tried also a google search on this problem and did
not find a solution.

TIA,

Pete

On the Layout tab of Page Layout | Page Setup | Page Setup, check the box
for "Different first page."
