Offer "Binder" office tool again
Before XP, Office had a Binder tool that was pretty helpful when working on a
project that used documents created by excel, word, publisher, etc. I could just open the binder instead of each document individually in the file. Is there another way of doing this now that there is not Binder tool? ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Offer "Binder" office tool again
Microsoft Binder (binder.exe) was discontinued and is only available in Microsoft Office 95, Microsoft Office
97, and Microsoft Office 2000, however, an unbind tool is available for Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Office 2003. Microsoft Unbind (unbind.exe) will extract any Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, or Microsoft Visio document contained within and place the extracted documents in a folder selected by the user. You can then continue using your original documents in any way you see fit. If you wish to use Microsoft Binder to create Binder files, you will need to purchase and install Microsoft Office 97 or Microsoft Office 2000. Although Microsoft Office 95 does have Microsoft Binder, the Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP/2003 file format is very different from Microsoft Office 95. In other words, you will not be able to open any Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP/2003 file in Microsoft Office 95 without converting it first. Either way, you will loose features introduced in Microsoft Office 97 and later versions. Offer "Binder" office tool again
Surely in this day and age of html, xml, dhtml...there must be SOME way to
recreate the MS Binder experience and not need to buy an old version of MS Office! Anyone got a template? "Timothy L" wrote in message ...
