SMTP / POP Failure
All is well then Outlook 2007 fails to send / receive messages, both
POP and SMTP fail instantly. I have performed the following: 1) Confirmed (internet based) email was functional 2) Validated all mail box settings in Outlook 3) Validated that other computers connected to the same POP / SMTP and network worked 4) Did a system restore to a point 1 week prior 5) Ran MS office "repair" 6) Ran MS office diagnostics 7) Ran “Windows Mail” which worked fine connected…the works… Barring a complete delete and reinstall of MS Office Pro, am I missing something? |

SMTP / POP Failure
Uninstall/reinstall is unlikely to cure anything
You fail to actually mention the text of any err msg, whether its a constant or intermittant problem And if your data file is located on the local pc "Wes" wrote in message ... So, data is local, all local to C:, also error is the same on every instance of "send/receive" I've uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office Pro...painful in that you can't select the program of interest, it's all or nothing! Same issue no connect on POP or SMTP via Outlook Errors: Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). Simple and stupid at this point, BTW MS Mail works fine same settings. This seems to be a C level instruction that has turned off access at the command level... some setting that prevents Outlook from "connecting" to any network connection, at least that's what I'm thinking. Clues??? |
