Default "Undefined function '' in expression" (access queries)

Hi; we've made use of visual basic functions in our main access database, where they work fine. We've begun using these queries to bring external data into some excel worksheets, and are getting errors such as

"Undefined function 'dateMAX' in expression"

when we try to choose a query and its columns in the wizard.

I gather that excel is not able to see these functions, and I don't know what I need to do. The functions are in db1 - Modules - Module1 ... how do I let excel know that?

Thanks in advance... Eric
