Default "AN error has occured an Outlook must close"

Hi, my outlook 2003 crashes when I try to send a new mail or when I open my
address book. eg) when I type the msg body all is fine. Then as soon as I go
to type the recipient, the program crashes. OR, When I type the recipient, as
soon as I click to type the subject...crash. However, it will send email to a
few recipients that it seems to know with auto complete of the address.
Any ideas on what is wrong?

Try detect and repair - if that does not work, then create a new mail
profile.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, SBC asked:

Tried it, no diff. BUT, what works is to goto contacts, click send new msg.
The email completes and sends and the next time I try to send to that person,
it auto completes the name and doesnt crash.....at least I have a workaround
in the interim.
