Is there a quick way to delete several appointments (often with recurences
and other attendees) on a given day without having to go through the various
'OK' pop-ups for each individual appointment?

Maybe you can use a list view of the calendar where you can highlight
multiple items and delete them at one time.

If these are meetings or recurring events, no. You need to respond to each
appointment's prompt.

Single appointments should delete easily, no prompts.
