Outlook 2007: Contact search isn't working

Hello - upgraded to Office 2007 - big mistake thus far: Publisher 2007
no longer supports Word Art, which many of my publications use a lot
of; Word has an annoying short lag from hitting the key to seeing the
letter appear; Excel 2007 you must save a spreadsheet before you can
print it (for proofing); Word no longer handles HTML like 2003, and on
and on and on... some 'upgrade'.

Now I can't get Outlook Contacts to search - simple things like by city
or by state return zero results. The indexing function says it's all
current.

What could I (or Outlook) be doing wrong? When using search on Outlook
2003, it works just like it should but no contact search in Outlook
seems to give any results...

Ideas?
