Hi Klaus,

Perhaps this combination is assigned to something else in your
environment, either in Word or something in Windows? Works here
just fine...

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=143224 says it nicely:

Ctrl+Shift+F10 Nothing happens

(It's for Word95, but it's what I get in Word2000, 2002 and 2003)

Does nothing here, either (Word 2003).

Yes, it's assigned to some WW2_RulerMode command in all versions.
Did you try in Word, or in some other Office program?

I sure hope that isn't the explanation for why I can't get my rulers to stay
put! I see that the "cheat sheet" I have for function keys shows "Activate
the ruler" for Ctrl+Shift+F10.

In Word :-) Interesting... I'm pretty sure my Normal.dot is a
"clean" one. If you've brought up an older Normal.dot...?

No, I'm on a new machine with Word2002 pre-installed.
If I use Alt+Ctrl+(NUM+), and then use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F10, Word
tells me it's assigned to WW2_RulerMode.

Same result on a machine with only Wd2003, and on one with Word6 and 2000.

Aargh, it's Alt+Shift+F10, not Ctrl+Shift+F10!

Alt+Shift+F10 gives me Select on Object Control. What does that mean? When I
press it, nothing appears to happen, and there's no listing in my Undo list.
