Default Questions uninstall Works 6.0/2002, install Office 2003

I would like to install Office 2003 on my computer, but it looks like I will
need to first uninstall the Works 6.0/2002 that came pre-installed. For one
thing, in looking through various posts recently, I read there are conflicts
caused by the two instances of Word (if I don't uninstall the old one
first). I figured it be easier just to get rid of Works completely, but was
left with the impression that the uninstall will not be as easy as it
sounds, and issues may remain when I install Office. Here is the list of
entries I have for Works in Add/Remove Programs:

Microsoft Works 6.0
Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Microsoft Word
Microsoft Works 2002 Setup Launcher
Microsoft Word 2002

How and in what order do I go about doing this, and what pitfalls do I need
to watch out for? Also (for later), will I be able to pull existing Works
spreadsheets into Excel?

Thanks,
jfire7887

When you remove works 6.0 you ma be prompted to remove what you wish. remove
all
then install office and yes your works spreadsheets should open in excel.

"Bother," said Pooh as he struggled with the computer.

"It never does quite what I want."

"I wish Christopher Robin were here."
