Default Changing source data link

I have a template workbook with a two sets of data and two
charts on the same worksheet.

I scan through another set of data (sales data) populating
the data on the chart worksheet for each row of sales data
this thereby changing the charts.
I then copy these charts and data to a new workbook and
save this first as a workbook abd then publish the data
and charts as a web page.

Two questions :

1.Is there a better way despite tha fact that this works.
2.The chart data source on the new workbook still links to
the original worksheet from which it was copied.
During the copy can I instruct it to drop the link and
take the data from the same worksheet?

Thanks
