Sian "Mary Sauer" wrote: I figured out how to do it in Access 2007, quite simple actually. I will look at your example. Thanks for all your help, Sian, it is appreciated a great deal. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Sian" wrote in message news Mary, There are ways of storing image data, there is an Image Control for displaying image data (Although I havn'y had much experience with this), There are OLE fields where images can be stored, and there are also Bound OLE Frames where images from an OLE Field can be displayed. I have found one site where imaging examples can be downloaded from: http://accdevel.tripod.com these may be of some help other wise I will be happy to do my own version for you. Hope this helps! Sian "Mary Sauer" wrote: Sian, I really don't want to learn Access, I know enough to create a decent database. I just don't know how to create an image field. If you have a sample I'd love to see it. mary-sauer at columbus.rr.com -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Sian" wrote in message ... Thank you!!!! And it does work, thanks very much!!!! Sian "Mary Sauer" wrote: I use Excel for my catalogue merges. I create a picture field, type the name of the image, usually .jpg but any picture format is possible. I then put all the images and the database into one single folder. That way I don't have to type the paths. I am not savvy about how Access acknowledges images. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Sian" wrote in message ... Hey, Im doing an A-Level project and I have to create a catalog merge- from Access, and I can't get it to show the pictures!! Do the pictures have to be in a particular format??? how do you create a data source in excel, can someone help with the steps to create that. im used to Access but like others i cant get pictures to show in publisher regards.. I created the table with image attachments, but could not get Pub to merge the attached images. Access apparently recognized the location of the images in subfolders (it correctly printed reports .) But Publisher seems to require that the images be in the exact same folder as the Pub file. This will be a bear with my 8,000 image project! Anyway, thanks to you and Mary Sauer. If you are use to access, continue using it. The catalog merge is less of a
burden if the images are in the same folder as the data. By doing it this way you do not have to provide a path in the image field entry. Instead of c:\users\user name\picture\bird.jpg all you have to input is bird.jpg -- Mary Sauer MVP http://msauer.mvps.org/ "lovelydan" wrote in message ... how do you create a data source in excel, can someone help with the steps to create that. im used to Access but like others i cant get pictures to show in publisher regards..
