Default AppsPro XY Chart Labeler functionality

Hi

Does anyone know if the AppsPro XY Chart Labeler is able to dynamically
update data point labels on a chart if the data in the 'label' cells changes?
I would like to know before I install the .exe file.

I have an XY chart with 256 data points derived from a 'master' formula with
various inputs. If I change an input, the data point values will change and
so will the associated labels.

Many thanks

Hi,

The link to the cell will remain. So if you have a point linked to A1
and change the contents of A1 the data label will update.

You can test this by doing it manually for a couple of data labels.
Select the data labels, then select a specific data label. Now use the
formula bar to enter an explicit cell reference, such as,

=Sheet1!A1

Cheers
Andy

Following your instructions for manually labeling a couple of data points, I
see that the link to the label cell remains, even though the XY values have
changed and the contents of the label cell have changed. Groovy.

So does the XY Chart Labeler automate the formula bar cell reference entry
process...but the actual functionality of Excel remains unchanged?

Many thanks

Yes, among other things the addin automates the linking of data labels
to cells.

It's the addin I use most often.

If you are using Excel 97 to 2003, the link will keep pointing to the
reference cell if you insert or delete rows or columns that change the link.
However, if you are using Excel 2007, the link will not stay pointed to the
reference cell. It appears to do so, until you change the value in the
reference cell after inserting or deleting that should change the reference.
A big bug in 2007......
