Default Restoring Outlook Express after Clean Install

I'm working on a friend's computer - and I'm afraid that I'm looking at a
complete wipe clean and re-install of windows XP home edition due to a very
nasty virus.

My problem is that I'm not an Outlook or Outlook Express user - and I want
to figure out how to save and restore everything that he has set up
(accounts, contacts, existing msgs - whatever there might be) after the
install.

How would I go about that?
