Creating a custom Entry Type in Journal
Installing a new hard drive--and Windows XP and Office 2007--left behind my
custom "Daily Record" Entry Type in Outlook's Journal. I was able to find some notes about personalizing Journal entries that sound vaguely familiar. (Create a new Journaling key called Daily Record in regedit) but I'm confused about what parameters need to be set and how they should be set. I now have "DescriptID" as REG_DWORD and Large Icon as Type REG_SZ and Data [17] but "Daily Record" does not appear in my Journal "Entry Type" drop-down list. What am I doing wrong? |

Yes. Precisely. And that's the article I found a copy of and it's what I
might have used to set up a custom entry type before I reinstalled Windows XP and Outlook 2007 on a new, clean hard drive. Adding the new key is fairly straightforward, but how to set the Description and Large Icon and their appropriate values is not so clear. Apparently I didn't do it correctly, becaue the new Entry Type doesn't appear as an option in the drop-down.
