Default "Some" messages going straight to the "deleted items" folder?

Ok, I have no message rules or block senders. Yet, on occasion, some
messages are going straight to the deleted items folder even though the
message senders are in my address book. What can cause this? I can see
nothing in the subject, to, from that would exclude these messages. I use
Norton AV, Spybot and Adaware.

For a POP3 or HTTP (Hotmail) account? If for Hotmail, maybe you have
rules defined in your mailbox on the server, or you have their spam
filtering enabled and chose the option to trash spam-identified mails.

For e-mail Reply: remove "DELETE", add "~VN56~" to Subject.

No, it's pop3. And I'm not using any spam filters unless they are in the AV
program or one of the spyware programs I run.

Assuming you indeed have no Message Rules or Blocked Senders:

Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main
Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity
(FileIdentitiesAdd new identity). Assuming all is well, import messages
from the old Identity before deleting it (FileIdentitiesManage
Identities).

To avoid such corruption in futu

Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm.

Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.
