Default How to change the starting page number

Is there a way to change the starting page number. For example, I want to view the page numbe on the footer. I do not want the first couple pages to have page numbers because they are cover sheets... etc. How can I make sheet 3 actually show up as page 1.

Thanks!

Just to make sure you are using the right feature (Should you use
Headers/Footers or Background Pages?); Does each page in your Visio document
print on multiple pages? If there is one physical page for each page in the
Visio drawing, then you should use background pages.

I don't know what you mean by does each page in my Visio
Document print on multiple pages....

What I have is a Visio document about 30+ pages. When I
print, I print all 30+ pages.... no multiple pages. I
have on the footer, revision date (Left side), Company
Name (Center), and page number (Right side). I want this
to be printed on sheet 3 to the last sheet, with the page
numbers automatically being inserted. I do not want to
manually change each page, especially if I add pages
within the document. I tried making the first two sheet
as a background, but it places them on the last two
sheets. I need this to be on the first two. Is it
possible?

Default How to change the starting page number

Originally Visio only had background pages. Headers/footers were added to
handle the case when a Visio drawing page ends up printing over several
physical pages. For example, you can create a 11"x17" Visio drawing, but if
you print it to a standard letter size printer (8.5"x11") you will end up
with two physical pages. The headers and footers relate to the Physical
page, so if this Visio file contains two 11"x17" pages, the headers and
Footers would number the pages 1 to 4. If you used a background page, only
two of the pages would have page numbers (1 and 2).

Backgrounds are quite flexible, but they do not print. The information is
only printed when the background page is attached to a foreground page and
the foreground page is printed.

In you case, create a background page that includes the Field "Page Number"
and then attach this background page to all the pages except the first two.
To insert the Field "Page Number" create a text shape and select the text;
use Field from the Insert menu. Under Category select "Page Info" and under
Field select "Page Number".

The following knowledge base article will explain how to change the starting
page number.
