Default "Create New Theme Colors" - not availabe, disabled

Dear PPT Team and Experts,
I would like to modify the hyperlink text colors in my presentations, but
when I access the "Create New Theme Colors" option under the "Design" tab,
the menu item is grayed out/disabled.

This is true also for "Reset Slide Theme Colors".

This is true no matter what presentation, theme, etc. that I use. I have
tried multiple options, without success to get the "Create New Theme Colors"
option turned on.

Can anyone tell me why this is disabled and how to turn it back on?
I would be most grateful.
Thank you and kind regards,
Brainswell

Is your file in compatibility mode?

Echo,
No, it is not in compatibility mode.
I've searched the web and MSKB, MSDN, etc. - no luck.

I've also discovered this same option is disabled in Word 2007 under the
Page Layout Ribbon.

TY for the reply.

Hm. I don't know why that would be.

If you have a file that has a custom color set in it, you can right-click it
and choose Edit. Maybe that's a workaround until we can figure out what the
issue is.

Do you show any add-ins in Office Button | PPT Options | Add-ins?

Yes, I have 3 PPT add-ins running:
- Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin
- Articulate Presenter
- Snagit Add-in

My coworker uses these as well and her Custom Colors are not disabled.

Wish I could find a registry setting?

Weird, very weird.

Is the problem with just this file, or with all files? Like, if you start a
new, blank presentation, can you access the colors to edit them?
