I have a skide show that was prepared in Corel Presentations and will only

Not a Publisher issue. Perhaps if you posted in a Corel newsgroup you'd get

Cavalry Certainly not in MS Office Publisher. If you have MS Office PowerPoint, that may open it. There is a free Corel program, Presentations 9, might be backwards compatible.
