Default omit blank fields in mailing labels in Access

Please can anyone tell me how to prevent including any blank fields for
mailing labels. As some addresses are longer than others, I included fields
to accomodate this, but when previewing labels created from label Wizard, the
ones with shorter addresses have unsightly blank lines in the middle. Can
anyone help please? I'm using older version of Acces 97 if this helps

Set the text box's Can Shrink property to Yes.

If you had already set the Can Shrink property to Yes, then I can only
assume
-the control source is not null or
-there are controls to the left or right of the Can Shrink text box
