READING JPEG FILES
I would like to be able to incorporate digital photos
that are jpeg files into a PowerPoint slide show. When I attempt to open the files, PowerPoint gives a message that it cannot open jpeg files. Can someone please tell me how to open these files or how to convert them to a format that PowerPoint can handle. Thanks much. Barry |

Barry,
Things to try (1 )Does the file have a 4 letter extension (e.g. mypicture.JPEG) Try renaming it to .JPG e.g. mypicture.JPG (2) Does powerpoint have a problem with all JPGs? or just your digital camera JPGs? (3) Does your current powerpoint installation include the "JPG" filter. Re-run your office/powerpoint setup.exe from the original CD Cheers TAJ Simmons microsoft powerpoint mvp awesome - powerpoint backgrounds, free powerpoint templates, tutorials, hints and tips etc http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com wrote in message ... You can't open them using FileOpen, if that's how you're doing it.
Instead use InsertPicturefrom file. This will place your picture on the current slide. If you are using this method and still no luck, in addition to TAJ's suggestions, is it possible that your images are CMYK JPEGs? If so you'll need to convert them to RGB before PowerPoint will like them. wrote in message ... I would like to be able to incorporate digital photos that are jpeg files into a PowerPoint slide show.
