Outlook calendar event UID
I created an appointment in my Outlook 2007 calendar. I then
right-clicked and copied it to several different dates before modifying them and saving off .ics files. When I e-mailed the .ics files, the recipients tried to load them, but each new one deleted the previous. Further checking showed that each ..ics file had the same UID. I had to hand edit the UID to something unique and re-send the calendar items to them. Is this the way Outlook Calendar is supposed to work? -- "In no part of the constitution is more wisdom to be found, than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive department." - James Madison |

It may be because you created appointments and not meeting requests. See if this helps: http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/pickmeeting.htm -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

See if this helps: http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/pickmeeting.htm Well, sure, I didn't want to create meeting requests. I wanted unique appointments. That link makes it appear that this may be a "feature". I imagine there may be some advantage to it, although I'm not thinking of one. So I will consider it a bug and will expect to hand edit my appointments in the future. -- "In no part of the constitution is more wisdom to be found, than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive department." - James Madison |
