Default Allowed address going to deleted folder

This may not be an OE problem, but I'll ask here first.

We get our mail through our web host. We have five e-mail addresses, and my
employer and I are both having this problem:
Even though my employer's addresses are in my allowed list, AND my contacts
list, her e-mails come directly to the deleted items folder. My e-mails to
her do the same on her computer.

I am not certain if this is an OE problem or something I should ask our
host. I have been to the control panel on the host site, and things appear
to be set correctly there.

On my computer, I have tried making a message rule for her e-mails, but it
is not working. And, WHY won't OE let you make a rule to send an e-mail
directly to the inbox, rather than creating a sub-folder in the inbox and
sending them there?

There is probably a simple explanation for this problem, but I'm not finding
it! I know enough to look in my deleted items folder before I tell it to
empty, but my employer gets an enormous amount of garbage mail to both her
accounts and she doesn't take the time to look, I'm sure, before emptying
that folder. (she opens EVERYTHING, blast her, and no matter how high I set
security, she seems to continue to get junk/spam/garbage)

You get your mail through your web host. but is it being read in OE or the
Website? If OE:

Make sure the addresses are not in Blocked Senders. If that is not the case,
uncheck all message rules that have the Delete It action and test. If it
works now, recheck the rules one at a time until you find the one that is
causing the problem.

You aren't allowed to make a rule to send mail to the Inbox because that is
where it will go by default unless you create a rule that prevents it.

Default Allowed address going to deleted folder

Well, we have a kind of "screwy" set up. Our IP is one company, our web host
another. We can get our e-mails from our IP, but it is easier for me to have
them go from the IP to our web host so I have more control over what goes in
my employer's inbox. (I figure since I have to fix the computers, I should
have control over what I have to fix!) I can do that while I'm in making
changes to the site, and I can do that from home, too. Because of ease of
use of different fonts, etc. for creating e-mails (we do a lot of online
stuff with different vendors, etc.), I have set up OE to be our e-mail
"reader".

So, the addresses are not in the blocked senders list. I have checked to be
certain that they are all on the allowed lists, which they are. I'm thinking
it may be a problem with our host since this started after I had an issue
with our e-mails through them. I'll check with them.

Oh, DUH! That makes sense about the inbox, and I should have figured that
out myself! ;-)

Thanks for your reply, and if you can think of anything else that could be
causing the problem, please let me know.

It does sound like a problem with the Web host to me. Can rules be set up
there that may affect where the mail goes like Hotmail's own Website rules?

There are rules, but I've checked all those. I'm going to contact the host
and see if the problem lies with their service.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
