If you want roman numerals for page numbers, go to the first page and on the

Type an "X" type an "I".... Are you trying to create a numbered list with the Roman mumerals? If so, choose Bullets and Numbering from the Format drop down list. then click on the Numbering tab. Then click the little drop down arrow at the right of the Format window, scroll down to where you see "I,II,III..." Click OK. If that's not what you were looking for, please explain.
