Publisher does support index, Word does. Long documents, such as a book is best
done in Word. This web page was written by a Microsoft MVP, there is a good section on Index. I think you are right, Ed... Thanks for the correction. Early mornings are not
the best, especially since I had a hard drive failure. Not a good way to start my day. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "Ed Bennett" wrote in message ... Mary,
If your budget will allow and hardware will support it, consider setting up your hard drive system in a Raid array. It uses two hard drives and reads/writes to both at the same time thus making two copies of everything. If one of the hard drives fails you get a warning of the failure and lets you continue computing on one drive until you replace the failed drive and after replacing the failed drive it goes back to dual hard drive system. 'Have Raid array; have had a failure and upon replacing the drive, back to normal, automatically. -- Don Vancouver, USA "Mary Sauer" wrote in message ... I think you are right, Ed... How did a picture CD crash the drive?
I just use an external drive for backups. I could (but haven't) automate the backup process to be more frequent than my manual system. Every so often I'll backup certain stuff to CD as well. bj "Mary Sauer" wrote in message ... I've been really good about backing up all my files. We found an old picture CD that crashed the hard drive. We tried everything to get it back, we are doing the last resort, re-format. I'll keep in mind the Raid array. I have a brand new laptop coming, be a good time to try it. I will search for the instructions...Thanks for the tip. |
