Default Ellipses in Isometric View

Hi, I am trying to draw a silly simple bracket in Visio 2003. I need to
show some circular holes in an isometric drawing. Since these holes are in
the angled plane, I need to show them as ellipses but with the axes of the
ellipses not at right angles but at the isometric angle of the drawing e.g.
45 degrees. How do I do that? The long way would be to create the ellipse
with 4 separate arcs stitched together. Is there an easier way?
Help please.. Regards

Hi Rob,

There are some isometric shapes out in the web-o-sphere that might save you
some time:

Go 3D with Free Isometric Piping Shapes for Visio:
http://www.visguy.com/2008/06/25/fre...pes-for-visio/

It says "piping" but there are extra shapes that will be of benefit to
anybody doing isometrics.

Default Ellipses in Isometric View

An isometric view of a cube has receding edges at 30 deg and 150 deg
respectively, with 120 deg between receding edges.

An ellipse representing a circle on a "face" as viewed would have a minor
diameter 57.7% of the major diameter, with those on "side faces" rotated to
+60 deg or -60 deg respectively.

Each ellipse is located at the average "x" and average "y" of the respective
diagonals. See simple illustration VSD attached.
