My 12yo son has to use a school computer which uses MS publisher 2003. He
saves to a flash drive, then brings it home to print on home computer which

No, we do not. I was going to try a trial/purchase of Publisher 2007, but
wanted to be sure that would work first.

Publisher 2007 will open every version of Publisher documents with the exception
of very early versions such as 2.0. Your son will have better success editing
his file if he copies it first to his hard drive.

I have an addendum to this question......if my son uses Publisher 2007 to
edit the Publisher 2003 files he is bringing home from school on his
flashdrive, will he still be able to open the edited files when he returns to
school (on their 2003 version)?
