fixed form size
hi all,
I have a couple forms and wat I want is to open some forms maximized and some in normal format. what happens now is that if I open the first form and normalize it all the other forms open in normalized format too. or when I maxime a form all the other forms that are opend next are maximized too. how can I change this? It is probably a simple thing in the form properties but I've tried all I could find and nothing seems to make a difference. Thanks ahead. Diederik |

Try the same in Word when you have multiple docs open or in Excel when you have multiple worksheets open. Maximize one and you maximize all. Restore one and you restore all. The only deviation from this is if you open a form with its Popup property set to true. Then it can open up non-maximized in front of other objects which are maximized. -- I don't check the Email account attached to this message. Send instead to... RBrandt at Hunter dot com |

If you can restore the window to the way it was by
clicking the Restore button at the top right (the overlapping boxes between the - and the X), you can use the restore command in the form's Activate event. In design view, make the form the size you want it, save it, then double click the box with the small square inside it (top left side of the form, to the left of the ruler if that is visible) to open the property sheet. Click the Event tab, click Activate, click the three dots, click Code Builder, OK, and insert "DoCmd.Restore" (without the quotes) between Private Sub...etc. and End Sub. If that doesn't consistently do what you need, try the same code in the Got Focus event. Experiment a little, as needed. Another possibility is to go to the Activate event and use the MoveSize command (DoCmd.MoveSize). Read Help (which is unusually helpful for this command) for more information. I usually just guess on the numbers. For instance, I often start with DoCmd.MoveSize 1000, 1000, 8000, 5000, then adjust using trial and error. There are more precise ways available, but I do not use it often enough to bother learning what they are. -----Original Message----- hi all, I have a couple forms and wat I want is to open some forms maximized and some in normal format. what happens now is that if I open the first form and normalize it all the other forms open in normalized format too. or when I maxime a form all the other forms that are opend next are maximized too. how can I change this?
