Default "Bookmark not defined"

Hi all:

Running Word 2000 v9.0

Document is text and screen prints assembled to create a
user manual for an internal system.

I'm trying to insert Auto-Text (Page X of Y) into Footer,
shows page numbering, but includes Error! Bookmark not
Defined!

Any ideas? All suggestions welcome, as it's driving me
crazy, and am under a deadline....

TIA,
Sandi

There must be some other field there. Press Alt+F9 to toggle on the field
codes and delete it. You will want to retain the Page { page } of {
numpages } field as that is the one that gives you the Page X of Y.
