Default Borders, formatting

I have a document, previously created that is giving me
trouble. A portion of the document has a border around
it, the portion in the border is in a letter format. When
I put a name and want to tab over (in the bordered area)
it creates a new bordered area. Or any time I cut from
another document and paste into the bordered area I get
another bordered area as well. HELP! This is so
frustrating! I use this document very often there must be
a way to keep it from creating more bordered areas.

It sounds as if you're working in a table.
