I posted this here mostly because of the new versions of OFFICE 2007
that have an X in the end of the extension,
for example .DocX instead of .Doc

This new format has some tricks that the old one cannot do, and it
compresses the file "on the fly"

of course these are proprietary formats and many freeware and open source
enthusiasts may dislike them..

but it MAY happen that someone sends you this type of format and you will
need to view it...

Of course for non 2007 formats, there is always openoffice from
openoffice.org
that is open source and very good

Whose questions did you answer with your posts? The general format of
these newsgroups is question-answer. There are sometimes announcements
of new user created items (e.g. add-ins, templates, etc) in these
newsgroups, but very rarely.
Simply posting a link to a blog post about something Office related as
an unsolicited announcement and not as an answer to a question is
basically spamming.
By the way, the people most likely to read your posts (those who reply
here all the time), already know about the new file formats, the
viewers, the compatibility pack, etc. A lot of us have had Office 2007
since the very first (private) beta in November 2005.

Default free viewers for office 2007!

the questions were asked in another MS newsgroup,

since I took the time to create the blog entry to answer the question for
the person,
I thought it would be good to share the information in this relative
newsgroup
for the benefit of everyone.

I prefer to make information available in this format to more people over
the internet this way than only replying to one person at a time.

This same information is then entered into Google groups and achieved
forever.

You are welcome to add any comment you want, and if I have something
incorrect tell me so the info will be correct.

thank you

This would have been a much better post to a newsgroup than what you did to
spam the newsgroup with your blog.
Plus you posted copyrighted material from Microsoft that you copied from
their website without giving any credit to their site.

In order to view PowerPoint, Visio, Excel and Word 2007 files without those
programs being installed on your computer, download the appropriate viewer
programs from Microsoft. The URL links to the various download pages are
below. Make sure you get the entire URL since the word wrap may truncate
some of the URL.
