Default How do you modify a list style

I created a simple list style I call "Bullet". I used a dot for the first
level and a dash for the second level. The first level has no indentation
and the "hang" defaulted to .25". The second level indents at .25" and
"hangs" at .25".

I would like the level 1 to indent at .25" but I don't see where I can
modify this. I'd like level 2 to indent at .5". Ideally I'd like to change
the "hang" setting as well.

One more question: My normal paragraph style is 0 pts before and 9 pts
after. If you look at the paragraph properties of the Bullet style, they are
the same. But it doesn't look like it on the page. The lines don't look
like there is any space after.

Thanks,

Mike

Which version of Word?

In the Bullet style, you might have "Don't space between paragraphs of
the same style" checked.

Display the Modify Style dialog box for the list style, click the Format
button, and then click Numbering. You will get access to the Customize
Outline Numbered List dialog box (Word 2003) or the multilevel list dialog
box (Word 2007), where you can set the desired options.

For detailed assistance, please tell us your version of Word.

Default How do you modify a list style

I am also having a problem with this in Word 2003. I adopted someone else's
documentation. She has the style as a numbered style, not as an outline
numbered style. Clicking the Increase Indent does exactly what I want it to
do, but it does so with .5" indents, where I'm looking for .25" indents. I've
tried resetting the tabs to default to .25", but Tab button not increase
indenting - it just moves over my text and keeps the numbering in the same
place.
Is there anything I can do to change the default indent, or do I have to
change the style to an outline numbered list? I'd rather the former, only
because there are a great many documents that currently use this style.
