Default Hyperlink Field

I have a field in one of the tables defined as hyperlink. I am able to add
records into the table with the hyperlink pointing to pdf files on the PC.
However, I am not able to open the filws when I clicked on the hyperlink. It
tells me "unable to open". can someone help.

Start by checking:

Do you have pdf viewing software loaded (e.g. Foxit, Adobe Reader)
Do you (in Windows) have that software associated with the .pdf extension?
Try opening that pdf file by directly double clicking on it. Does it work?
If not you have a problem outside of Access.

Sincerely,

Fred

I can open it by double clicking outside of Access. So still don't know the
problem. Thanks anyway.
