Master Category List Problem
To maintain consistency in the master category list, my
company uses the export master category option, where by clicking on the file, it automatically changes the master category list. I have not had a problem with this until recently. I just bought a new computer and the first time I received the registy file and clicked on it, it was able to change the master category list. That was the only time that this procedure worked. I've tried many times after that and it does not work anymore. It seems that this problem occurred after I got the new computer. I've checked and made sure that the problem is not with the file itself. I'm running Windows XP Professional with office xp, outlook 2002. Can some one place tell me why this is happening and what can I do to resolve this. Thank you very much. Kalina |

Master Category List Problem
I don't believe this has anything to do with the old
computer because the master category registry is exported from a "Main" computer and sent to everyone in the office. I am the only one experiencing this problem but to answer your question, yes, same version of outlook on the old computer. All computers in the office uses the same version of outlook. -----Original Message----- were you using the same version of outlook on the old computer? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Author, Google and Other Search Engines (Visual QuickStart Guide) Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Join OneNote Tips mailing list: http://www.onenote- tips.net/ Vote for your favorite Outlook and Exchange utilities in the Slipstick Ratings Raffle at http://www.slipstick.com/contest/ "Kalina" wrote in message ... Master Category List Problem
Newer versions use a hex format for the registry entry, so it does matter.
Does the list revert to the default list? (you should only need to import it once otherwise) Did you speak with the admin - it's possible they have winxp locked down. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Author, Google and Other Search Engines (Visual QuickStart Guide) Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Join OneNote Tips mailing list: http://www.onenote-tips.net/ Vote for your favorite Outlook and Exchange utilities in the Slipstick Ratings Raffle at http://www.slipstick.com/contest/ wrote in message ...
