Default AddressBook

Your answer is curious inasmuch as my Address Book is entirely blank but I
can display my contacts by clicking on the appropriate tab, but when I go to
create a new E-mail and click on "To" my Address Book is entirely blank. I
then open up Contacts, find the addressee's name and copy and past into the
"To" field.

I believe my Outlook thinks it is part of an Exchange Server setup.

Nope. Outlook doesn't "think" that. Your Outlook Address Book service that
creates the Address Book view from your Contacts folder is damaged and the
only way to fix it in Outlook 2007 is to create a new mail profile.

Please excuse the poor choice of words. I never believed that OL "thought"
anything. What I should have, perhaps, said was that the configuration for my
version of OL might be that of a client-server relationship, i.e., pointing
elsewhere for its Address Book contents (an Exchange Server which in my case
doesn't exist?). I have created new mail profiles several times with no
success but will try once yet again. The bigger question is that if I upgrade
to OL 2010, will these parameters carry over. Maybe I should give the demo OL
2010 a shot to see what happens.
