Have the Outlook 2002 user omit the reminder. I suspect what you're seeing
is not garble at all, but a valid iCalendar item that OUtlook 2000 can't
process due to an incompatibility. You can also contact Microsoft Product
Support Services for an Outlook 2000 hotfix for this incompatibility.

When scheduling a meeting request in Outlook 2002, and
inviting others to the meeting (who are still using
Outlook 2000), a problem ocurs; Unicode (UTF-8) shows at
the top of the recipients meeting request window, and the
body text is garbled. Further, the meeting request
displays as an e-mail -- not a meeting request. We do not
have this problem going from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2000.
Help???
