Default Office 2010 RTM Reactivation Required in Hyper-V Environment

Thanks Milly. TechNet pointed me to here but taking another look, they are in
the process of converting to forums and this is not one they have gotten to
yet.

I would pose that question directly to Microsoft via TechNet as the people
here are volunteers and do not work for Microsoft. Any advice given here is
not binding on Microsoft.

After furious head scratching, chris r asked:

| Hello. I have virtual machines in a Hyper-V environment. I also have
| a master virtual hard drive with Office 2010 RTM configured. When I
| create new virtual machines from this master vhd, Office on the new
| vm detects "a substantial number of hardware or software components
| change on a system" and requires reactivation within 3 days. This I
| understand completely. I also know that each OS and app has
| different rules about reactivations.
|
| I have a TechNet Plus subscription. The FAQs there say: "As
| subscribers often need to install and reinstall software, we are
| working to increase activations available for keys, or to enable
| issuance of additional keys."
|
| I have successfully reactivated Office in a new vm based on the
| master vhd so I know the reactivation process is successful at least
| once.
|
| I plan on creating new virtual machines based on this master vhd,
| deleting them, create new ones, deleting them, etc. Your typical
| virtual environment stuff...
|
| My question is: Will I be able to create new virtual machines again
| and again (based on the master vhd) and reactivate Office 2010 (based
| on the same key) without issue?
