Default MSWord notepad for taking notes, then use notes to write document

You could use an EndNote window.

Have a notepad built into MS Word and PowerPoint that is available to
easily
take notes on from a presentation or book or whatever you are studying.
This
notepad should then be available with your document on the same screen so
that you can refer to your notes when writing your report. I imagine
something like a drop down window with plain text that you could pull up
and
leave up whenever you need it and then hide when you don't. The window
should be available to scroll separate from the document so you dont lose
it
at the top of the page.
